At Monlau, we support students during a crucial stage: the beginning of their academic, personal, and social journey. Our ESO program combines personalized guidance, educational innovation, and activities that foster all dimensions of the student.
Why study ESO at Monlau?
Tutoring is essential
The tutor plays a key role throughout this stage. The objective is to ensure comprehensive guidance at both academic and emotional levels, with continuous monitoring of the student and their family. This support is one of the most valued aspects of our educational program.
Core Competencies
Our work is endorsed by the excellent results of our students in the core competencies assessed by the Generalitat. We apply adapted methodologies and innovative resources that allow students to progress based on their individual abilities, with constant and personalized support.
ICT and Robotics
We foster digital competencies from the first year of ESO with laptops, virtual reality glasses, robotics, 3D printers, and programming. This approach prepares students for the challenges of future professions, promoting creativity, critical thinking, and technological innovation.
Trilingual Language Project
Students learn Catalan, Spanish, and English through a competency-based and communicative approach. Catalan and Spanish language classes are conducted jointly in small groups to promote oral expression, comprehension, and the development of communicative skills.
Dual Baccalaureate (optional)
From the second year of ESO, students can begin the American Dual Baccalaureate, which allows them to simultaneously obtain the Spanish diploma and the High School Diploma. Subjects are taken online and in English with native teachers, enhancing digital and linguistic competencies.
Emotional Education and Values
At Monlau, we educate individuals, not just students. We include subjects such as Emotional Management and Culture and Ethical Values from the early years. We want every student to know themselves, respect themselves, and learn to relate positively.
Graduation Ceremony
We celebrate the end of this stage with an emotional and meaningful graduation ceremony in a large auditorium. It is a moment to recognize the students’ efforts and share it with the educational community, families, and peers.
Dining Service
We have a dining hall with catering service and qualified supervision. Students can also bring their own food from home, if they prefer.
School Trips and End-of-Course Trip
School outings, camps, and the end-of-stage trip are an essential part of the educational project. We combine recreational activities with experiential learning and promote coexistence, teamwork, and autonomy.
Solidarity Participation
Solidarity is part of Monlau’s DNA. We promote social and collaborative projects with external entities to develop empathy, cooperation, and social commitment.
